It is okay to feel under stress once in a while but constant stress can have many bad side effects. Stress can affect your body, your thoughts, feelings and your behaviour. If left unmanaged can contribute to many health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and diabetes.

When we are under extreme stress, our body take effect and may develop a few common signs of discomfort in our daily lives such as headache, muscle tension, fatigue and sleep problems to name a few. Automatically affecting our mood hence we will feel more anxious, restless, irritable and lack of motivation.

Be in control of your mind and your well-being. Take necessary steps to overcome the bad into good. Here are some tips to follow:

1) Regular physical activity

Any form of physical activity can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing any sickness. When we are active, our body produce endorphins, a chemicals in the brain that act as a natural painkillers which helps improve the ability to sleep, which in return reduces stress.

2) Practice Relaxation Techniques

There are multiple ways to get yourself relax and breathing. Start simple by doing deep breathing to get yourself in the right mental health before starting the day. There are other relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, tai chi or just by simply getting a massage.

3) Have a laugh

Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies. There are just a lot of good from laughing! Life is truly better when you are smiling or laughing. A good health comes from within.

4) Go out and socialise

Maybe the first thing you would like to avoid when you are under stress is around people but did you know, socialisation increases a hormone that decreases anxiety levels. Being around people can actually make you feel more confident in overcoming your stress the next time. In addition, when you are around people having a good time, you are temporarily distracted from your own problems.

5) Set aside time for hobby

There's nothing more therapeutic than doing the things that you love and enjoy. All in all, instead of focusing on the negative side, grab a book or call a friend to the movie and start focusing on the good. It all comes back to you on how you want to manage your own happiness.
